Website Design Features & Benefits

I believe that your website is not just something “you have to have” but is a powerful tool for your business or organization that delivers traffic, customer and community engagement, and a strong return on your investment.

Responsive Mobile-Friendly Design

Your customers look at your website on everything from their PC and laptop to their tablet and phone. We need to make sure that your site looks great and enforces your message everywhere.

U

Basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

It’s simple…the better optimized every part of your website is, the easier it is for new customers to find you when go online and search for a provider in your industry.

Training

I will show you and your team how to properly manage, edit and update your website through the content management system so you know your site is in good hands before I turn over everything to you.

Social Media Integration

Social media is where your customers will refer you to their friends and family who need your service. We need to make sure they can easily find and access your social media to streamline that process.

Content Management System (CMS)

You don’t want to learn all about website coding and jargon (atleast I doubt it) – a content management system (CMS) makes it as easy as drag-n-drop for you to manage to words and images on your site.

Your Best Images, Videos, & Content

I will incorporate any website content (words), images, and videos that you have available into your new website. If you don’t have any I can provide copywriting and photography services for an additional fee.

Frequently asked questions

If you have questions, hopefully I have the answer that meets your needs

What is the process?

My process is critical to the success of both my business, and ensuring that the website I build and design for you actually meets your needs and delivers actual and measurable results for your business or organization. I respect your business, your time, and your money (as I hope you respect mine) and every step of my process is tailored to make sure the partnership we build together is mutually beneficial.

1. Research & Roadmapping

before I even quote you on your project, we will sit down and have a conversation (either online through Skype, on the phone, or face-to-face. We will discuss your current website (if you have one), your previous experience with website designers, tools / tactics / strategies that you have tried before, what you like about your website, what you don’t like about your website, your competitors’ websites and what you like about them. We will also discuss your specific goals – what do you want your website to do…do you want more foot traffic in your door, do you want more phone calls from potential customers, do you want more people following your social media – whatever it is, I will closely with you / your team to ensure that your new website is geared towards completing this goal.

2. Design

After we hammer out the details and have a clear outline of your goals for the website, I will develop a couple of design options for you to look at (homepage, internal pages, etc) and decide which option / combination of the options are the correct design for your new website. During this time, you should be preparing any content that you want for the website (written text, images, videos, etc as they will be crucial for the next step).

3. Development

After the design is settled on, I will build your new website on my local server so that it does not interfere with your current website / google rankings / traffic and and then invite you to look at the completed website once it is completed. If there are any changes that need to be made, I will make those, and then we will go over the website again until we are both satisfied.

4. Launch

When we are both satisfied with the website, final payment will be made and I will migrate the new site to your hosting server to replace your existing website and it will go live to the world. At that time, you will get the admin login credentials for the CRM system so that you can manage and update the website as needed.

5. Training / Support

When your site launches, I will provide easy-to-follow training that will show you the functionality of your website and you or your team can easily keep everything up-to-date and running smoothly and safely. Additionally, for the first 3 months, I will backend maintenance and support, which includes updates to the core content management system, security, and plugins, as well as small content changes / updates.

How long does the process take?

To be honest, this depends on the complexity, size, and type of your website. For instance, a 5-page website that outlines your business, your services, and attracts new sales calls will take less time to complete than a full-fledged ecommerce web store that has hundreds of products. Typically, I strive to have every website ready and online within 14 – 30 days from the beginning of the design phase to completed launch.

Larger websites or websites with specialized functionality (ecommerce, customer portal, membership areas, etc) may take longer.

The time line will be agreed up in the quote and scope of work before work on the project begins.

How much will it cost?

Like the time it takes, the cost of the site is dependent on a few factors. My website range in price from under $1,000 for a basic small business website with only a few pages to $10,000 to $15,000 for more complex websites. A typical small business website with 4 custom pages (home, about us, our services, contact us) and a blog section will typically start at $750 – $1,000. Plus, all custom sites include 3 months of basic backend service / updating for free.

If you want more complex functionality (ecommerce, online booking, membership / customer portal, complex quote / contact forms) the price for the site will increase.

If you are interested in a specific quote for your website needs, please fill out my online quote starter form so that I can work up a solution for you.

The form is at the bottom of this page!

What will I need to provide?

You will need to provide a clear idea of what you want your website to achieve (more sales calls, online purchases, etc), as well as all of the written content that you want on the site, images that you want (team members, action phones, logos, etc) as well as any other content (videos, testimonials, etc).

If you need help with written content, photography, etc, I can help provide these at an additional cost.

Please note, delays in client provided content is the number one cause of a delayed website launch.

Why such a long form?  The reason is that I respect your time and your business.  Your website is a big and important investment, and I want to make sure that I have all of the information that is important to get the job done right before we even take the first step forward  Besides, to be honest, if spending about 5 minutes filling out a form to get the kind of website that can truly transform your business is too much of an investment, we are probably not a great fit to work together.

What do you want visitors to your site to do?

Do you already have the content for page of the website?

WIll you, or one of your staff, be editing and mainining the site after completion?

If you, or your team, will be managing the site going forward, what is your technical skill level?
